NumFOCUS affiliation is our lightweight option for open source scientific computing projects that want the benefits of our community and network without full fiscal sponsorship. Affiliated projects remain legally independent while gaining access to NumFOCUS's community, funding programs, and promotional support.

What Affiliation Includes
Community
Affiliated project leaders benefit from participation in the NumFOCUS network — a broad, international community of scientifically oriented open source leaders. NumFOCUS helps build connections and creates opportunities for project leaders to collaborate, both in person and through digital forums.
Funding
Affiliated projects are eligible to receive support with fundraising and grant writing, and to participate in Google Summer of Code under the NumFOCUS umbrella.
Promotion & Marketing
Affiliated projects benefit from elevated visibility through their association with NumFOCUS by being highlighted in our internal and external communications, as well as being showcased to corporate sponsors.
NumFOCUS is currently in the process of updating its financial and administrative systems. New project applications will not be considered until this work is complete. This page will be updated when a timeline for reopening applications is available.
